Picture it: December, 1988. A young Odd Broad stands with hands on hip in her front yard, her bunny like front teeth chattering in the cold, her mullet inspired home perm blowing in the December wind. She is nine years old going on ten, and simply not ready to enter into the realm of double digits.
Everything about turning ten scared me.
OK, so I've always harbored a bit of a Peter Pan complex. I haven't really thought about it for the better part of this decade and yet, in two days I am turning thirty. My twenty-something period is fast fading and there is absolutely nothing I can possibly do to stop it!
What can I say? I was one of those six year olds who would lie awake at night, surrounded by my Glow Worms, pondering mortality. But here I am, on the eve of a brand new decade.
Thirty, you bastard, here I come! Geronimo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're prettier your way!

When I turned 30 (in September), I remember thinking something big was going to happen...like I'd feel different or something. But the day after my birthday I woke up and realized I was the same. Maybe a little bit older, but the same. 30 is just a number. And while it is a bit scary, it's not that bad. So far, 30 has been good to me. I wouldn't change it for 20 if offered a million dollars (well, maybe if I didn't have to pay taxes on it)! :-) Happy Birthday, Odd Broad!

It's all in the mind.
You'll always be a 19yr old Sag/Cap nutcase to me!

A very, very belated but very, very Happy Birthday wish from an old broad down under who is catching up on some of your old posts. At 41 (going on 19), can I tell you that you thirties are FABULOUS, but your forties are even better!! All I can say is, bring on my fifties!
