Tonight Hubs and I were lucky enough to watch the Sox clinch a playoff spot from Fenway.
We looked on contentedly, the Pru twinkling benignly in the background, the sounds of Ken Casey and the Murphy's echoing in our ears.
Papelbon, in true Papelbon form, bent over and ripped up third base and ran it over to a fan sitting on the left field side. Soon after he did the same with second base and then first. I looked up at Hubby and he was smiling a quiet little smile. I was, too.
We've shipped up to Boston. Have been here for over a month. I'd forgotten how pretty the city is, how friendly the people here can be; how you shouldn't wear heels while walking on cobblestone, how brazenly the pedestrians jaywalk, what it feels like to live very close to my family.
New York will always hold a special place in my heart, but I have to say- it's good to root for the home team in the place I dreamed about for most of my twenties. xoxo
