Today I made trip #4 to our local thrift/charity shop, just me and my trusty old lady pushcart. I am purging and packing and living in a sea of boxes and bubble wrap. (I'm trying my best to resist the urge to pop said bubble wrap, since that would be very counterproductive.)
Eventually I decided to take a little time out to watch The Two Coreys. (I find this fine program can be extremely helpful when it comes to putting things into perspective.) My sister is also a reluctant fan; like myself she is often simultaneously intrigued and repelled by what she is watching.
Below is an email I received from Sissy last week that I'd like to share with you. (Please note, I read most emails from my sister in the voice of "Stewie" from The Family Guy. I recommend you do this also, since it will translate better.)
From: Sissy 7/27/2008 10:46:18 A.M Why the hell does Corey Feldman need an assistant? What has he got going on? I mean, Haim needs one since he is trying to make a comeback. Where are they getting the money for all of this...especially the awesome houses? Royalties or something? They are both obsessed with the Lost Boys, which I have never seen, nor do I have the desire to see. Are the movies they were in that good? Could Feldman still be making money from The Goonies? It has been on cable as of late. Why is Susie always straightening her hair? Where is the baby? Why does "Nelson", of the long haired twins, hang around with feldman? WHY am I watching this show? |

Will I be seeing any royalties from this blog? I want to buy an awesome house like the Coreys.

The Corey's used to have a telephone hotline. You could speak with both of them, or pick your favorite Corey. The day my dad received a phone bill with a $75 charge from a 900 number was not a good day for me. This is why they are able to have awesome houses. My 10 minute phone call.

But, which Corey did you pick? I have never found Feldman attractive, even when I was a child. I always felt Haim was much cuter. And now he is a washed up dope addict.

Haim was my favorite. I had pictures of him all over my room. Now I cringe when I see him. The same thing has happened to my other childhood crush....Larry Bird.

Something just possessed me to watch the Valentine's Day episode and I am just sick now. Feldman's song to Susie pushed me over the edge. I have vowed to never watch that show again....until next week.

Amy, how can it be that I've known you for 12 years and have never heard this Haim/Feldman story?? Haim is my favorite too, if I was forced to choose. (Not that anybody would be forcing me to choose, but still.)
Sister, I am glad you finally watched the Valentine's day episode. I found it SO atrocious I actually had to fast forward through some of it!! Even Kittie didn't want to watch. It was quite possibly...the most heinous thing I have ever witnessed. (And by that I mean it was effing awesome.)
